Janice W. ‘Ticky’ Quin
Resting in The Arms of The Lord, Monday, March 22, 2021.
Beloved daughter of the late John X. Quin and the late Gertrude Quinn (nee Hooss), cousin of Stephanie Whitener, Pam Gayle and Amy Banks, cherished friend of Lynne Stiebel.
Janice was born July 30, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Ladue High School and attended Goucher College and Washington University. Janice was a fashion model for local department stores Saks, Famous, Stix, Vandervoort’s as well as Montaldo’s. Janice worked at Commerce Bank in Clayton for more than 35 years before retiring.
Janice loved dogs, any and all dogs! She loved Forest Park – feeding the ducks at the Boathouse, SLSO concerts and fireworks, Shakespeare in the Park, Twilight Tuesdays, and Jungle Boogie Fridays, visiting the sealions, wild cats, and elephants at our wonderful zoo. She looked forward to the annual Green Tree Festival (where she would dance to the beat of her favorite local band, The Fabulous Motown Revue), the Clayton Art Fair, and UMSL Jazz Band performances at the Touhill. As a season ticket holder, Janice loved going to Powell Hall; she especially loved a Rachmaninoff piano concerto. After moving into Laclede Groves, Janice was happy to just lounge in the sun (AKA Miss Hawaiian Tropic), play Rummikub and Bingo in addition to Bible Study and Sunday Services in the chapel. But her favorite thing to do was to savor a glass (or two) of Chardonnay.
Services: A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 26 at Oak Grove Cemetery, 7800 St. Charles Rock Road at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to LSS Laclede Groves Benevolent Fund, 723 South Laclede Station Road, St. Louis, MO 63119.
We appreciate the love and care Janice received at Laclede Groves with special thanks to Julie, Lona, Jasmika, Amy, Shawnee, Lisa, and Alani for your concern and compassion and for ‘going that extra mile.’ You ladies truly are ‘Shining Stars!’
