Susan Lee Reeves
(nee Luechtefeld), 68, of Chesterfield, MO, passed away at her home on Monday, January 1, 2024. She was born in 1955, in Grand Rapids, MI, to Victor and the late Virginia “Binny” Luechtefeld.
Susan is survived by her husband, Patrick Freeman of Chesterfield, MO; three children, Brian Reeves, Danny Reeves (Justin Shaw), and Katherine Reeves; her father, Victor Luechtefeld; three siblings, Richard (Pam) Luechtefeld, Cathy (Phil) Vivirito, and Joan (Kurt) Delabar; as well as grandchildren, Nicholas Sudekum (and mother Mary Sudekum), Henry Roder, Katie Fluke, and Paige Freeman.
Susan received her high school education at Incarnate Word Academy and received her college degree from Fontbonne University, graduating magna cum laude. She dedicated her professional life to the field of special education, serving as a special education teacher for the Special School District of St. Louis County, most recently working at Johnson-Wabash in the Ferguson-Florissant School District.
Susan will be remembered as ‘Nana’ by her grandchildren, ‘Miss Reeves’ by her school children, and as ‘Bonus Mom’ by stepchildren Katy, Sean, and Chris. Susan will also be remembered by everyone in her life for her sharp sense of humor, selfless personality, and famous crab rangoon.
Services: A gathering to honor Susan’s life will be held at Lake Post Commons Clubhouse, located at 16323 Justus Post Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017 on Saturday, January 27th, any time between 11 am to 2 pm. Any flowers can be sent C/O Katherine Reeves, 12825 Town and Four Dr, Creve Coeur, MO 63141, and will be brought to the gathering on January 27th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to Siteman Cancer Center of St. Louis, MO.

I am very sorry for your loss. While I did not know Susan very well, I know she was someone dear to my heart as she and I shared the same passion for special needs children. I’m sorry I am unable to attend the services celebrating her life, but please know you are all in my prayers. Much love to you all.
