Maryfrances Lang September 15, 1936 - October 5, 2026

Maryfrances Lang

Maryfrances Lang, beloved wife, mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Monday, October 5th, 2026 at the age of 90.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John J. Lang, after 57 years of marriage.  She was the only child of James Bernhoester and Grace Lee Ebert.  She went to high school at the Academy of the Sacred Heart and was a graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Nursing.  She leaves behind her 6 children: Chris (Laurie), Matt, Karen (Larry), Jennifer, David (Maureen), Margaret (Steve), and 12 grandchildren:  Hannah, Brenden, Claire, Jack, Michael, Rachel, Marcia, Henry, John, Harold, Nicholas, and Rowan, and two great-grandchildren, Milo and Iris.

After a career as a psychiatric nurse, Fran spent her life lovingly raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She had a love of wildlife, particularly that found in her backyard:  birds, deer, and turkey.  Her graduating class founded the Golden Anniversary Endowed Nursing Scholarship at SLU and she proudly instilled a love for the nursing profession within and outside of her family.

She loved cooking, giving advice, and Longaberger baskets.  But most of all she deeply loved her family.  As long as they stayed out of the kitchen and didn’t touch the thermostat.

Services:  Visitation and funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 6 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 12136 Olive Blvd.  Visitation at 9 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SLU “Golden Anniversary Endowed Nursing Scholarship” at https://engage.slu.edu/register/fund or to Father Bob’s Outreach at https://www.fatherbobsoutreach.com/donate.
