James Alexander Stafford
James ‘Alex’ Stafford passed away at his home on January 24, 2023 after a 5-year battle with GIST cancer at age 45. He was a devoted husband and father and friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Renee; daughter, Kylie; father, James Stafford; mother, Mary Stafford; and also a niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Alex was a proud member of the 501st, a charity group ran by volunteers with 2 passions: Star Wars and bringing smiles to others faces. He founded Sabers4Hope while battling his own cancer because he wanted to give kids with cancer a brief moment where they forget about their own. He had a truly caring heart and will be greatly missed.
Services: Family and friends are welcome to attend graveside service on Saturday February 4th 11:00am at Sunset Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 10180 Gravois Rd. Please meet at the east entrance (closest to Schnucks) by 10:45am where everyone will be escorted to grave at 11:00am promptly. Immediately following the service, family and friends are welcome to attend a lunch gathering at Helen Fitzgeralds 3650 S. Lindbergh until 3:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be made to either Sarcoma Foundation of America or St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Both were near and dear to Alex’s heart.

November 11, 2024 at 2:56 amOne of the best men I know. We worked together at Charter. He was always cheerful, hardworking, smart, and loved his family. When I met him, he was working on his degree and seeking to better himself and provide for his family. Paths took us in different directions across different states, but I call him my friend.
