Allen Joseph ‘Al’ Eise

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away at dawn on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022, while in the loving care of his wife Betty and staff at the Saint Agnes Home in Kirkwood, Missouri. Allen was a lifetime resident of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Allen was born on May 24, 1931, to Roy J. and Mae P. Eise. Al was 11th of 14 children.  He grew up in St. Louis and Mary Ridge in Missouri. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1949. He then worked at Wagner Electric Corporation in St. Louis as an assembler from 1949-1951.

Allen is a Korean War Veteran. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951. His basic training was in San Antonio, Texas with more training at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. He served in Seoul, South Korea, Guam, and Walker Air Force Base, Roswell, New Mexico. Allen was honorably discharged in 1955.

Al then went back to work at Wagner Electric Corporation. Shortly thereafter he went to work for McDonnell Douglas Corporation.

Al and Betty met each other in 1955 through the Ave Maria Society at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church in St. John, Missouri (Betty’s home church). At the time, he was attending classes at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. They were married on May 10, 1958, at the Old Cathedral on the riverfront in St. Louis.

He later completed his B.S. degree from the University College at Washington University in St. Louis on June 4, 1962.

Allen was a long-time employee with the McDonnell Douglas Corporation as a Logistics Engineer and manager in support of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member and officer in the Society of Logistics Engineers. Later he became a part-time real estate agent.

He was a 52-year member of St. Richard Catholic Parish in St. Louis County, Missouri, and past member of St. Ann Parish in Normandy, Missouri. He was also a Past Grand Knight of Cardinal Ritter Council 6500 and 4th degree member of the St. Louis Assembly 565. Allen was a long-time volunteer for St. Richard Parish, Fox and Sheldon Theaters, Circus Flora, Fr. Bob’s Outreach, St. Agnes, as well as Election Judge, Cub Scouts Scoutmaster, and many others.

Beloved husband of 63 years with Betty L. Eise (née Beverungen), dear father and father-in-law of John (Louise), Joseph (Jennifer) and Daniel (Mitzi), devoted grandfather (Opa) of Justin, Jessica, and Laura Eise, Curtis Eise, Alyssa Eise, and Kaitlyn Hartig. Dear great-grandfather of Ari Eise-Majors. Dear son of the late Roy J. and Mae P. Eise. Dear brother of 10 predeceased siblings, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend.

He is survived by his wife Betty L. Eise (née Beverungen) and sisters Jean Zellinger, Janet Mohrmann, and Nancy Witte.

Services:  Visitation and funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 7 at St. Agnes Home, 10341 Manchester Rd., 63122. Visitation at 9 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10 a.m.  Interment with Full Military Honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Fr. Bob’s Outreach, 1371 Hamilton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63112, MS Society, or St. Agnes Home.

Visitation and funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 7 at St. Agnes Home, 10341 Manchester Rd., 63122. Visitation at 9 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10 a.m.  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
