John Anthony
aged 56, residing in St. Louis, MO, passed away on August 30th, 2022.
John was born on December 7th, 1965 to Edward and Eimer Anthony. He grew up in Willoughby Ohio where he attended Willoughby South High School and acted as their mascot, the Willoughby South Rebel. After graduating, he spent time serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. John lived and worked in Ireland for a year at the pub that bore his name and was in the family for over 200 years.
John attended the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and graduated with a degree in biology and medical technology. The majority of his career was spent with the St. Louis County Health Department as a manager of Infectious Disease Control.
John was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. His hobbies included golfing, cooking, reading Stephen King novels and spending time with his dogs. He was passionate about his family and a skilled storyteller.
He is survived by his wife, Alona Anthony, his daughter, Savannah Anthony, his mother, Eimer Anthony, his sisters Emer (Jim) McNamara, Maureen (John) Palmisano, Maeve (Bob) White, and Julie (Geoff) Baker, nieces and nephews, Luke (Christina) Palmisano, Clare (Pat) Pelley, Nicole (Gabriele) Palmisano, Jimmy (Natalie) McNamara, Erin (Kyle) Vermillion, Molly (Dale) McNamara, Nate Baker, Jacquelyn White, Kate Baker, Shannon White, Emma Baker, Megan White, and Bryan McNamara.
Services: Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, September 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 37940 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio 44094.
