Joyce Mugg
Joyce Mugg went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Dr. George and Martha Terjung prayed for children who would love the Lord and live a life of service to Him. Their prayer began to be answered when on May 15, 1934 Joyce Marion Terjung was born. Their prayer was further answered when Joyce married Jim Mugg and they began over 50 years of ministry serving churches in the USA and eventually extending their ministry worldwide with the organization they founded, Global Outreach.
Joyce received her undergraduate degree from Wheaton College, 1956. She and her husband Jim, served together at four churches in 25 years in Hortonville, WI, Belvidere, IL, Wyandotte, MI, and Springfield, MO. In 1983 Global Outreach ministry was formed to send Jim and Joyce as missionaries to serve in several countries behind the “iron curtain”. God immensely blessed this ministry for 31 years.
Joyce Mugg (nee Terjung) was married to Jim for just six days shy of 58 years. She was the mother to Jeff (Patrice) Mugg, Jerry (Kristin) Mugg. Memaw to Jordan (Katie) Mugg, Joshua (Sharon) Mugg, Hannah (Shawn) Oberle, Grace Mugg, Emma Mugg, Benjamin Mugg, and Chloe Figg. Great Memaw to Esther Mugg, Corin Mugg, Madeline Mugg and Miriam Mugg, Pete Oberle, Josiah Mugg, Sam Oberle, Sabrina Figg.
Services: Joyce’s life of service to her family and Lord will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Crestwood Baptist Church, 9916 East Watson Road, Crestwood, MO 63126. Visitation at 10:30 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
