Karen Lane February 27, 1939 - March 25, 2025

Karen Kearney Lane

Surrounded by her family, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.  Loving wife of the late Cornelius T. Lane, Jr. and loving mother of Cornelius Lane, III (Becky Oster), Kathryn Pavelonis (Robert), Timothy Lane, Molly James (Richard), Ellen Dolan (Douglas), Meghan Siebenman (TJ), Courtney Moore (Ryan), and Brendan Lane (Elizabeth Easton); dear grandmother to 32 grandchildren.  Dear daughter of Kathryn and Joseph S. Kearney; sister to Joseph Kearney, Jr. (late Gail) (Cay), George Kearney (Julie), Susan Bordes (late John), Ellen Leydon (Robert), aunt and friend to many.  Born in Evanston, IL, Karen attended Marywood High School, before continuing her education at Maryville College.  It was there that she met the love of her life, Connie Lane. They married in June of 1964, and raised their eight children in the Mary, Queen of Peace Parish.  Karen was the matriarch of the family, always present and involved in her children’s lives.  Karen loved to play golf with friends, attend daily Mass, lead volunteer efforts at her favorite Catholic schools, and watch Notre Dame football games.  She cherished her coffee chats and cocktail hours, which brought laughter and connection to her days.  Her legacy is one of love, friendship, and unshakable faith.  Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the lives she touched and the friendships she cherished.

Services:  Visitation and memorial Mass will be held Monday, March 31 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 676 W. Lockwood Ave., 63119.  Visitation at 10 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 12 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to be made to Mary Queen of Peace Compassion in Action.

One of my favorite ladies! So many wonderful memories of playing golf, coaching the golf team, watching soccer games, spending time together at Westborough and Mary Queen. Karen was the perfect example of how to be a perfect wife, mother, and friend.
Hugs to all of her children and family.
