Robert Norman Simcox
Born March 28, 1940 ~ Passed away June 1, 2024.
Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church.
Beloved husband of Charlotte Simcox (nee Kerr), dear father of Lisa (James) Brueggemann and Rebecca (Chris) Schwartz, dear grandfather of Christiana Brueggemann, J. August Brueggemann, and Bennett Robert Schwartz, dear son of the late Norman and Joette (nee Nolan) Simcox , dear brother of Karen Eileen (Jim) Cheatham and Tamrah (Terry) Oliver, dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.
Bob was born and grew up in the city of St. Louis and graduated from Herculaneum High School, where he played football. He loved animals, especially horses – and passed that on to his eldest daughter, Lisa of Charleston, SC.
He was a devoted husband to Charlotte for forty-seven years. His second daughter, Rebecca of St. Louis was born in 1988 and was one of the great joys of his life.
Bob worked in the printing industry for 35 years. He then transitioned to the grocery industry, where he enjoyed working for Dierbergs for 15 years. He had an amazing work ethic that he learned from both of his parents.
Bob grew up taking trains to visit his grandparents. He developed a love for trains and later became a collector of toy trains. He loved music of all kinds, including opera, but he especially adored Country Western music. He knew the words to every song and loved to sing along. It brought him enormous comfort.
He loved flowers and especially walks through the Missouri Botanical Garden. He adored his wife, children and grandchildren and family get-togethers. He also enjoyed game nights with friends.
Bob was devoted to his Catholic faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree. His love for the church was evident in the way he lived his life with honesty and integrity and kindness.
Services: Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 15 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 17 Joy Avenue. Visitation at 10 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 11 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Shrine of St. Joseph appreciated.
