Rosemary Catherine Riley Fulhorst
Born October 14, 1932, a long-time resident of St.Louis, went to rest with God on January 1, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Fulhorst and daughter to the late Margaret and William Riley. She felt the most important role she had in life was as a loving mother to Anna (Bob) Patterson, Mame (Mark) Fuhrman, Kathrina (Kevin) Donegan, Rita (the late Spencer) Shiell, Theresa (Scott) Chisholm and Patsy (Ryan) Kirtland. Proceeded in death by her children Robert, Maureen, Rosemary Fulhorst and Genny Droege. Beloved sister to Maureen Baine (the late Bob), Bill (Sally) and Charles (the late Joan) Riley, and Theresa (Bill) Shaw and many loved niece and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her sister Margaret Anne Riley.
Loving grandmother to David, Bill (Shannon), John (Jessica), Sean (Nikki), Claire Patterson and Mary Francis (Tim) Sargent, Rosie (Jake) Hirschfeld; Madi and Riley Fuhrman; Bridget, Riley and Colleen Donegan; Grace (Kevin) Phelps, Emily Shiell; Jessica Droege: Ryan and Shannon Chisholm. Proud great grandmother to Lexi, Timothy, Samuel and Christopher Sargent; Tyler, Joey, Matthew and Ava Patterson; Stella Donegan; Kirby and John Robert Jr. Patterson; Lizzie Mae and Abbie Patterson; and Bennett Hirschfeld.
Rosemary was a lifelong learner and earned her bachelor’s degree later in life. She helped many as a Social Worker, her volunteer work especially at Mother Theresa’s Soup Kitchen, Al-Aon and AA; work with the Sisters of St. Joseph’s and support of the Haiti missions and much more. She was 36 years sober. Rosemary liked to experience all the world had to offer with her travels, reading, exercising, attending classes and painting, always in a fashionable manner. She was one of the best bargain hunters out there, had a wry sense of humor and was extremely resilient in all that life threw at her due to her deep faith in the goodness of God.
We will miss her baby Jesus birthday cakes on Christmas, lamb cakes on Easter and most of all her hugs and unconditional love.

January 3, 2019 at 4:55 pmRosemary was my PSR teacher many years ago. To this day, as an adult, I remember her joy in serving the Lord and the sacrificial love she had as a part of who she was IN CHRIST. I was saddened to hear of her passing.
