Margie Ponnath February 1, 1931 - October 27, 2018

Margie Ponnath (Mary Margaret), born on Feb. 1, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, to the late Joseph and Mary Holland, passed away peacefully at the age of 87, surrounded by family and friends, on Sat., Oct. 27, 2018. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1949. Margie is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Joseph Ponnath and her loving son Stephen (Mary) Ponnath. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Geoffrey (Beth) Ponnath, Kansas City, KS and Jessica (Matt) Crotty, Shreveport, LA and great granddaughter, Marin Ponnath, Kansas City, KS.

Margie was an active member of St. Aloysius Church and served on many committees. She also spent many hours at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, cleaning, and decorating the church and making sure the priest had clean purification cloths. She enjoyed spending time with the Knitting Group making lapshawls for nursing homes and baby booties for newborns. Margie loved spending time with her grandchildren and recently with Marin, her only great granddaughter and loved seeing her pictures daily on the computer.
A sincere thank you to Margie’s dear friends who filled her last months with love and companionship. Her friends offered overwhelming assistance to the family during Margie’s illness. We will never be able to thank these friends for all they did; Jim and Joyce Donovan, Fred and Toni Smalley, Marilyn Hein, and Don and Roseann Courtois.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Angela Merici Catholic Church.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of Margie. Losing a loved one is very painful. God’s word promises there will come a time on earth when there will be no pain, suffering, or death (Revelation 21:3,4). May these promises provide comfort in this time of sadness.
