Anita Duarte April 16, 1933 - March 1, 2023

Anita Duarte

Anita left this world surrounded by her loved ones.  She lived to be almost 90 and now joins her husband and siblings in the afterlife.  Lola Nita or Tita Nita will be missed by many nieces, nephews, apos and grandchildren around the world.  She is survived by her two daughters – Maria (Alden) and Alyssa (Lance), and her five grandchildren – Alexander, Henry, Jasper, Annelise and Austin.

She lived a long life filled with travel, dance, food and prayer.  She inspired her daughters to be independent, instilling her work ethic, values and importance of family.  She was the first pharmacist in her village in the Philippines.  She moved to the US on an exchange program, built her career as a medical technologist and eventually married Prospero Duarte in Michigan to start a family.  With her fighting spirit and faith, she miraculously beat ovarian cancer to be able to enjoy seeing her grandchildren grow, laugh and play together.
