Bridget Calcaterra May 4, 1950 - July 10, 2026

(MARY) BRIDGET GUNN CALCATERRA

May 4, 1950 — July 9, 2026

Bridget was the dear wife of Thomas Calcaterra; devoted mother of Molly Calcaterra; loving mother-in-law of Dani Estopare; dearest Grandmother (Bob) to Declan and Finley Calcaterra;  wonderful Sister of Don Gunn (Sue); Sister Donna Gunn CSJ; Lee (the late James Gunn); Margaret (Maggie) Gunn Fowler (Ed); Kathleen (the late Thomas Gunn); Michael Gunn (Carolyn); Patrick Gunn (Ann); and her late sister and brother in law Claude and Kathleen Gunn Martin. Loving sister-in-law of Nancy Calcaterra.  Bridget has gone to join her parents Loretto and Donald Gunn and all those she has loved and missed.

Bridget was the last of nine children.  Her motto was: “Obviously eight was not enough.”  A graduate of Fontbonne University, she majored in Business and brought her expertise to various areas, including 20 years as the Deputy Director of The St. Louis Development Corporaton.

Bridget will also be remembered as a “mother” to so many – including those in the LGBTQ Community. She embraced them for exactly who they are – beautiful children of God.

She left all of us far too soon and her common sense, wonderful humor and listening heart will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services:   Bridget donated her body to science.  A Memorial Mass will be held Sunday, July 19th at 11:30 a.m. at Nazareth Living Center, 6 Nazareth Lane, St Louis, MO 63129.

I did not know Bridget but did know her sister Kay so she too must have been a special lady. My heart goes out to all in the Gunn family and know I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
