David John Stolwyk

96, of Richmond Heights, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Survived by his Beloved wife of 68 years, Marilyn (nee Reppell); loving father of Mark (Betty), Mary Kate (Kevin) O’Linn, Matt (Doris, m. 2022, Kris, d. 2017) and Liz (Dan) Kennedy; beloved grandfather of Michelle (Leo), Claire, Kevin and Megan; loving brother of John (Susan), the late Barbara (Brett) Breheny, the late Carl (Flo, d. 1982)(Rita, d. 2016) and the late Mary Beth (Hank) Shropshire; dear uncle, parishioner and friend. Born in Ft. Madison, IA to Adrian and Elizabeth (Beckman) and grew up in Keokuk, IA.  Moved to Webster Groves following the early death of his mother in 1942, finishing high school at Webster Groves High School before graduating from Saint Louis University with a degree in Geophysics in 1950.  In 1954-55, Dave served in the U.S. Army; first with the Engineer Test Unit in Fort Belvoir, VA and then with the Engineer Depot Maintenance Unit in Anchorage, AK. Following his marriage to Marilyn in 1955, and after working as a design engineer at Thatcher & Patient from 1955 to 1965, he became a founding partner of Stolwyk & Ferrenbach, a civil engineering and land surveying firm, in 1965.  He was a devoted member of Immacolata Church, loved sailing, book club, travel and, during his career, attending noon Mass daily with Lee Ferrenbach.

Services:  Visitation and memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 4 at Immacolata Catholic Church, 8900 Clayton Rd. Visitation at 9 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10 a.m.  Dave gave his body to the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
