Donald Lewis July 15, 1937 - January 30, 2020

Donald Lee Lewis

age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Mason Pointe Care Center in Chesterfield, MO.  He was born July 15, 1937, in Richmond Heights, MO, to Grant and Helen (Hughes) Lewis.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Vivian; sons, Chris (Brandy), Patrick, Matt (Rada), and Jimmy; 11 grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.  Don was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Lewis, and his sister, June Wehnert,

Don was a 1955 graduate of Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School.  He attended Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, MO for two years.  In 1959 Don entered the US Army Military Police School and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.  Don worked for most of his life as a manufacturers’ representative selling different product lines of metal.  He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals and Football Cardinals.  He always enjoyed family camping trips and float trips.  Don had a great sense of humor.  He had a gift for engaging people in conversations and never met a stranger.

Services: Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 4 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 676 W. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves.  The family will greet friends at the church from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd., Saint Louis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 4 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 676 W. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves.  The family will greet friends at the church from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd., Saint Louis.
