Beloved husband of Shirley Spillane (nee Dieter), dear father of Edward J. Spillane III and his spouse Debbie, and the late Lori Ann Spillane and her spouse William Lutz and his current spouse Joanne, dear grandfather of Meredith Spillane, Spencer Lutz, and Casey Spillane, and dear brother of Francis Spillane, the late John Spillane, William Spillane, Adele Barrett, Kathleen Cullen and Mary Berg.
Edward received both a Masters in Hospital Administration and a PhD in Finance from Saint Louis University. He was the Chairman of the Board of the Aquinas Institute of Theology and a hospital administrator with the Catholic Hospital Association.
Services: Visitation and funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 7 at St. Anselm at the Abbey, 530 S. Mason Rd. Visitation at 9:30 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Louis Priory School or Visitation Academy appreciated.
