Youngest and last living of ten children; born to Mary Elizabeth McKeown (nee Sharrocks) and Joseph McKeown of Worcester, MA.
Beloved husband of the late June M. “Junie” McKeown (nee Domke) dear father of William J. (Rose), Franklin S. Jr. (Karen), Daniel F. (Dallas Dufer), and Mary E. McKeown, dear grandfather of David, William, Patrick, Nicholas, Teresa, Franklin III, Susan, Kevin, Margaret, Catherine, Joan, Alison, Daniel, Christopher, Benjamin, Brian and Timothy, dear great-grandfather of twenty-seven and counting, great-great grandfather of one, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, friend, and mentor.
Frank was an engineer and innovator who constantly sought to enhance the function of anything lacking, including processes and product within the manufacturing facilities where he worked. A craftsman in his own right, he repaired, renovated and adorned every abode to please Junie and his ambitious spirit. He loved playing the organ and piano, and could till the end. Also, bowling, Ted Williams, saying Grace for family meals, a couple of beers on a Saturday afternoon, watching the kids play sports, hitting fly balls and sharing vanilla wafers with his beloved dog, Meco. Further, he had attachment to three green monsters in his life: the left field wall in Fenway Park, a big green station wagon for hauling building materials, and the home where he lived for over forty years. For those who never did, it’s too bad you couldn’t have met him. Thank God for Frank and Junie.
Services: Visitation and funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 106 N. Meramec Ave, Clayton. Visitation at 9:00 a.m., Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. and interment at 11:30 a.m. Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.
