Fred Hugh Entrikin, III
Fred Hugh Entrikin III, 76, passed away on April 16, 2026. Born in St. Louis and raised in Webster Groves, he remained deeply rooted in the community throughout his life.
Fred grew up in Webster Groves, where he built the foundation for a life defined by discipline, intellect, and loyalty to those he loved. He graduated from Saint Louis University High School in 1967, where he was a standout basketball player, and went on to continue his athletic and academic career at Christian Brothers University in Memphis. It was during his time in Memphis that he met his beloved wife, Carolyn, who he later married and shared his life with.
After returning to St. Louis, Fred built a successful career in commercial finance. Beyond his professional life, he had a deep commitment to education and service. He dedicated significant time to the Archdiocese of St. Louis, serving on the Board of Education, including a term as its president, where he worked to strengthen and support Catholic education in the community.
Fred was, above all, a family man. He loved his family deeply and took pride in their lives and accomplishments. He is survived by his children, Kristin and Andrew; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Alexa, Madeline, and Anne. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn, and his son, Fred.
Those who knew Fred will remember him for his keen wit, sharp intellect, and no-nonsense, pragmatic approach to life. He had a presence that was unmistakable, balanced by a love of laughter and simple pleasures, including time spent watching sports, fishing, and enjoying the occasional beer.
Fred will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services: Visitation and funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 24 at Little Flower Catholic Church, 1264 Arch Terrace, Richmond Heights, MO 63117. Visitation at 11 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 12 Noon. A private burial will be held for the family.
