Born on December 4, 1944, Rick lived a life defined by faith, courage, and a deep love for his family. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Eileen Heitert, beginning a partnership that spanned more than five decades.

He continued his love for the outdoors with his grandchildren skiing and hiking into his 70s. He was ever engaged in their many sporting events and along with Eileen hosted them on trips to the Rocky Mountains.
