Eugene Stanley Day
Gene Day passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Webster Groves, MO at the age of 96. He was born on December 24, 1925 in Frederick, MD to Pliny and Lena Day. He was the last of four brothers and two sisters. Gene is a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Force as a pilot in training. He attended the University of Maryland on the GI Bill, studying Architecture. Gene was president and owner of DeMarne & Day, Inc. He was married for more than 50 years to his beloved wife, Maggie Day, who preceded him in death. Gene is survived by two children, Kathleen (Bill) and Richard (Denise), three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Services: A graveside service in his honor will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 11:30 a.m. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, 12800 Viers Mill Road, Rockville, MD. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 9914 Julliard Drive, Bethesda, MD. Come as you are, no fancy dress or suit and tie — (Dad hated wearing these). Tool belts are optional.
