John ‘Jack’ George Macke, Sr.
Baptized into the Hope of Christ’s Resurrection, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Loving husband, for 61 years, to the late Dorothy ‘Dotty’ Jeanne Macke (nee Maher). Jack was born January 16, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to the late F. George Macke and Isabella Garlich Macke. He was preceded in death by sister, Marilyn (Macke) Schlaker and two brothers-in-law, Tom (Char) and Phil (Connie) Maher. He is survived by six children: John Macke, Jr., Dan (Traci) Macke, Donna (Greg) Winter, Jim (Sue) Macke, Diane (Seth) Leibson and Doris (Brian) Skoff; fourteen grandchildren: Nicole (Jeremy) Collins and Natalie (Jesse) Davis; Matt (Kaylee) Macke, Mike (Emily Rose) Macke, and Emily Macke; Brian (Ariana) Winter and Renee (Mike) McVey; Kristen Macke and Matt Macke; Cooper Leibson, Victoria Leibson and Addison Leibson; Sean Skoff and Mike Skoff; eight great-grandchildren with two on the way: Ashley, Lauren, and Morgan Collins, Hank and Hudson Davis, and Maxton and Makenna Macke; Malachi Macke and many other relatives and friends.
Jack served in the Air Force and was involved with many organizations over the years including Wings of Hope, Habitat for Humanity, St. Monica Parish Eucharistic Minister, Usher and coaching kids’ sports, Visitation Academy and St. Joseph’s Academy Men’s Club and Cub Scouts.
Services: Private (Family only) Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 7 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 243 W. Argonne Drive, Kirkwood. Mass will be live streamed at 1:00 pm.

December 7, 2020 at 4:45 pmDonna and Greg, so sorry to hear about Jack. A good man. Sorry too about Dottie and Dr Winter. I couldn’t get by to see you when they happened. Hope you are doing well. I am recovering from a stroke about a year ago, but doing well. The kids? My two are fine. Let me know where you are and what you are doing. We are3 sheltering in place here. you are in my prayers.
