John F. “Jack” McDonald, Jr.
Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away June 1, 2025.
Born January 15, 1949, in St. Louis to John F. and Helen (Lottes) McDonald, Jack attended St. Roch School and then Christian Brothers High School (CBC) where he was a standout football player. Jack received a football scholarship to Wichita State University where he played for three years. He obtained a BA from St. Louis University.
Jack was co-owner with Andy Goldberg of Process Equipment & Controls for many years.
Later in life, Jack suffered from a progressive neurological disease that caused a gradual loss of vision, speech, and mobility. However, it did not diminish his mental acuity or wonderful personality. Even after he was wheelchair bound, Jack spent many hours laughing and joking with his cousins and his many friends. Jack was especially thankful for his high school classmates who often took him to church, out to lunch, or just driving around.
Jack is survived by his sisters, Mary McDonald Morrison (Tom) of Alexandria VA, Margaret McDonald and Judy McDonald, both of St. Louis County. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob, and his nephew, Kevin Morrison. He was blessed to have many Lottes family cousins who provided assistance whenever needed and invaluable emotional support. Jack was a devout Catholic and drew strength from his faith, which sustained him.
Services: A Requiem Mass will be held Friday, June 13 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 243 W. Argonne Dr., Kirkwood MO at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mary Culver Home, CBC, or the charity of your choice.
