January 15, 2024 at 4:01 pmDear Susan and Stephanie, I had planned to attend your mom’s Memorial Mass and then this morning was needed to help one of my daughters, whose flight was canceled late last night. After getting her to car rental office and then home, I would have arrived at end of Mass. Kathleen and I were roommates at Maryville and she was one of my bridesmaids! She and your dad attended my husband’s and my 50th wedding anniversary dinner twelve years ago. Your mom loved her job at St. Charles and retired long after the traditional age. That’s why a group of us met for lunch on the occasional Saturday for lunch instead of on a weekday! The last time I saw her was at your dad’s burial at Resurrection. I had planned to drive her to the Maryville luncheon a few weeks later but she called that morning to say she didn’t feel good. No one answered the phone on a subsequent call. I remember your mom as a woman of grace with a lovely sense of humor and a love of learning. And she loved her girls! And grandkids! You both will be in my prayers. Kathleen is in heaven!
