Kristine Marie Fleming

Kris passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026 surrounded with the love of family.

Born on December 27, 1968 to James and Ann (nee Carter) Fleming, she was preceded in death by her parents and great nephew Brodie Fleming.  She is survived by her brother Stephen (Kimberly) Fleming, nephews Cameron (Rebecca) Fleming and Jackson (Ashley) Fleming, and great niece and nephew Ada and Everett Fleming, and numerous aunts, cousins, family and friends.  Kris was devoted to family and took on the role of aunt and great aunt with pride.  She doted on her nephews and took great pride in their accomplishments.  Being a great aunt was especially important to Kris as she had looked forward to watching them grow.

Kris grew up primarily in the St. Louis area, only living outside of St. Louis in Barrington, Rhode Island for two years.  She was a 1987 graduate of Parkway West High School and a 1991 graduate of the University of Missouri, Rolla (aka Missouri S&T).  Kris spent her entire professional career with the family business, Central States Products.

In college, Kris joined Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, which became a lifelong passion of hers.  She continued to remain active with the local alumni chapter as well as becoming highly involved serving the national office in roles including: Vice-President Construction, FHC Director, and Construction Committee.  She managed the construction and/or renovation of numerous ZTA houses across the country, ensuring welcoming beautiful homes for future women of ZTA and a lasting legacy.  Additionally, Kris served on the Chapter Financial Management Committee, multiple offices in the St. Louis MO Alumnae Chapter as well as Kappa Omega Chapter (St. Louis University) and Theta Kappa Chapter (University of Missouri-St. Louis). She received the ZTA Certificate of Merit and her Honor Ring.  Through ZTA she developed a passion for volunteering for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, including being Co-Chair for the Race in St. Louis.

Kris was an avid fan of Disney, worldwide travel, golf and playing games.  She would wear Mickey ears with pride, play a round of golf anywhere in the country, and could be found playing games for hours.

Education, and especially STEM related education, was important to Kris.  She created the Fleming Scholars Program for Women in Engineering Endowed Scholarship, providing scholarships for women entering an engineering program.  Donations for the scholarship may be made through https://give.zetataualpha.org/campaign/831286/donate.

Services:  Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, MO 63141.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 15370 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield, MO 63017 at 10:00 am.  Committal immediately following at Bellerive Gardens Cemetery.
