Laura Balanag December 24, 1940 - January 18, 2022

Laura Altura Balanag

Laura was the loving wife of U.S. Navy veteran the late Lauriano Balanag and mother of two first generation American citizens Lorna Balanag and Lawrence Balanag.

Laura was born on December 24, 1940 in the Philippines.  As a teenager, her eldest sister, Belin, paid for her education in dress making, a skill that Laura brought with her to America.

Laura easily found a job at a bridal shop located just down the street from where she lived.  After her husband died in 1984, Laura diligently provided for her two children, using the invaluable dress making skills she learned long ago, always giving credit to her eldest sister, Belin, for paying for the education.

For over forty years, Laura worked for the same bridal shop, bringing joy, reassurance, and solace to many brides to be.

Laura loved life, her family, her job, her personal relationship with God, which above all else, was a constant reaffirmation of faith.
