Lily Rengstorf March 20, 1924 - September 11, 2023

Lily Rengstorf

Impeccably attired in hat, earrings, and gloves, Lily was ready to meet the world head on.  Through a century of change including the depression, war time, and relocation, she moved on to a fulfilling career, volunteering, and ever devotion to family, friends, and the Blessed Mother.  Lily was grateful for God’s blessings and direction through challenging as well as joyful times, continuously flexible, positive and focused on the moment.  Remember Lily as reading a mystery under the shade of a tree with a pot of tea or on a Mediterranean cruise sipping a margarita, enjoying God’s gracious gifts.  Her spirit endures.

Your passing leaves a huge void in this world. When you would call and we’d chat, there was always sunshine in your voice. I understand why you and Mom were such great friends. It was always the high point of my week to mail you a letter and stay in touch. I know you and Mom are together now. She’s been waiting to see you. The memories of you will always be in my heart and soul. God bless.

Lily was definitely a gift to have around. She was witty and loved to be with people. When we would visit her at the skilled care center at Meramec Bluffs, she was someone we all looked forward to being around. Her faith in God was always evident. When we prayed together, she always thought of “everyone under the roof.” Plus, she was vocally grateful for her life. What a gift to have her in our lives even for the short time that we knew her!
