Mary Ellen Heimann

(nee Sullivan) of St. Louis, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the age of 96.  Born January 11, 1926 to the late William and Irma Sullivan (nee Hirschhausen) at 1017 S. Boyle in St. Louis.  Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Heimann and daughter Karyl Ann Gildersleeve (nee Heimann).  She is survived by her two sons John of Phoenix with wife Rochel; Tim of Rock Hill with wife Michelle and son-in-law George Gildersleeve of Phoenix.  Mary Ellen was proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, Dylan Franklin, Kaitlyn Gildersleeve, Ryann Kampeter (Jacob), Madalyn Heimann, Joseph Heimann, Hannah Heimann, Jackson Heimann and Ellie Heimann, one great grandchild, Carter Franklin, and many nephews and nieces, including her niece and caregiver, Trude Hull of St. Louis.

For over forty years Mary Ellen was a loyal Teamster with Local 688.  Through the years she worked for St. Louis area trucking companies Watson-Wilson, Yellow Freight and retired from A&H Truck Lines.  After retirement Mary Ellen was a member of the Richmond Heights Lions Club and volunteered for the Mary Ryder Home.

Services:  Visitation and funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 17 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 2618 S. Brentwood Blvd., Brentwood, MO 63144.  Visitation at 8:45 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will be immediately after at Gatewood Gardens Cemetery, St. Louis.
