Richard Jude George
Born August 23, 1935 to William Aristides George and Josephine O’Toole George, Dick passed away peacefully on July 14, 2022. He was the devoted husband of the late Sue Seeger George for 55 years and the beloved father of Reecee Lanier (Charlie), Rich George, Tim George (Julie), and Tory Nieset (Jim). Dick took particular joy in being the grandfather of Charlie, George, and Lucie Lanier; D’Arcy and Gabby George; Otie, Ellie and Peri George; and Livy and James Nieset. He was predeceased by siblings Stede George (Jean), Kathleen Rife, Jimmy George (Beth), Judy George and Larry George (Lorraine). Dick was a proud member of the Chaminade College Prep Class of 1954 and served on the Chaminade Board of Trustees. He looked forward to “First Friday” Mass at Chaminade each month, and attended it with some of his dear friends since the fourth grade. Dick graduated in three years from St Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. He was Vice President and General Manager of the family business, the PD George Company, where he worked with his brothers, uncles and cousins until his retirement in 1996. After retiring, Dick volunteered each week at the Society of St Vincent de Paul for nearly 25 years. Dick was an original board member of the Mathews-Dickey Boys and Girls Club where he and Sue were both involved. He had a deep faith and attended Mass daily.
Services: A private memorial Mass will be held. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at the Church of the Annunziata, 9305 Clayton Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63124.
