October 1, 2020 at 12:30 amYour Father and I became good friends during his time at Ladue Chapel where we both involved in the financial function, myself as a lay leader and he as the Business Manager. I was truly shocked to hear of his untimely death. We had lunch in late August and there were no signs of any health problems and he was looking forward to new opportunities. During the many hours we spent talking to each other I came to respect not only his technical abilities but even more his deep faith in God. This faith and his devout practice of his Catholicism made him a truly fine human being. I hope that you share his faith in God, for that will help you get through the tough times you are now having to deal with. I will miss his friendship.

September 30, 2020 at 3:38 pmTom and I met when we were freshmen at Mizzou. We lived in the same dorm. At first I didn’t trust him because he went to SLUH and I went to KC Center. SLUH beat us and ruined our undefeated season in football in 1970. I got over it though and we became close friends quickly. I think he even gave me the nickname “Doc” because I was pre-med (even though I never became a doctor). We were roommates at Gatehouse Apartments our sophomore year and Chris joined us at Broadmoor Apartments for junior year. Those were some of the most memorable years of my life. My wife Linda and I had a Saint Louis family as well as a KC family. Linda and I are so sorry for your loss, but fully aware that we are all better off for having known him.

September 28, 2020 at 7:01 pmTo the Sargent Kids~
Your Dad worked with my Dad many years ago at a place called “Union Camp Corp.” My Dad always spoke very highly of your Dad, and my parents attended your Mom and Dad’s wedding. Your parents were great to me in the 80’s when they moved in next door to the Dryden’s and your Dad figured out that I was a Schwartz! So many memories of you all being born, the fun times at Little Flower functions, and just casual conversations as we met coming and going in the neighborhood. And your Dad always wanted to swap candy at Halloween! Your Dad was always so proud of all of you~ He is already missed~ He truly was one of the “good guys”. Keeping you all close in my thoughts and prayers during these difficult days and weeks ahead. God is with you, as your Mom and Dad are with Him. Love you all,
Mary Schwartz (Dryden)

September 28, 2020 at 5:31 pmOur thoughts and prayers to the Sargent families. When our daughters were competing in high school Tommy and I would always meet and recall the great families memories of the Sargent’s and the Corbett’s in Richmond Heights and St. Luke’s Parish. Eternal rest granted to him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. Heaven has just gained another son of the Lord.

September 28, 2020 at 12:20 pmOh my. My heart aches for our loss of Tom. He was one of our besties. We had so many special times with him at Sunmark events, BBQs, picnics and happy hours, but yet not enough. We will miss him dearly. With each loss we endure in our beloved Sunmark family, God gains a special angel. Peace be with you in God’s loving arms, Tom. ❤️❤️

September 27, 2020 at 8:46 pmI’m the pastor who worked with your dad at Ladue Chapel, and I was shocked and dismayed to learn of his unexpected death. I had texted him about a month ago about his retirement, and we were planning to get together and catch up. I enjoyed your dad immensely. He was a man of principle, a committed churchman, with an unshakable faith in God, and with a great sense of humor. And yes, he was the grill master! My heart goes out to you in this unanticipated season of loss. May your faith in Jesus Christ, who conquered death, comfort and strengthen you in your grief. God is with you to give you peace. Unfortunately I cannot attend the mass on Friday.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I watched Tommy and my brother Pat Brennan grow up
together and what one of them did not think of to get into mischief, the other one did. Tommy will truly be missed by many.
