Dorothy “Dotty” Jeanne Macke (nee Maher) Baptized into the Hope of Christ’s Resurrection, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Loving wife, for 61 years, to John “Jack” George Macke, Sr. Dotty was born March 26, 1934 in St. Louis, MO to the late Philip V. Maher and Theodora (nee Fehlig) Maher. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom (Char) and Phil (Connie) Maher and sister-in-law, Marilyn (Macke) Schlaker. She is survived by six children: John Macke, Jr., Dan (Traci) Macke, Donna (Greg) Winter, Jim (Sue) Macke, Diane (Seth) Leibson and Doris (Brian) Skoff; fourteen grandchildren: Nicole (Jeremy) Collins and Natalie (Jesse) Davis; Matt (Kaylee) Macke, Mike (Emily Rose) Macke, and Emily Macke; Brian (Ariana) Winter and Renee (Mike) McVey; Kristen Macke and Matt Macke; Cooper Leibson, Victoria Leibson and Addison Leibson; Sean Skoff and Mike Skoff; six great-grandchildren with one on the way: Ashley, Lauren, and Morgan Collins, Hank and Hudson Davis, and Maxton Macke; sister-in-law Ruth Maher, and many other relatives and friends.
Dotty was involved with many organizations over the years including St. Monica Parish, DeSmet Jesuit High School, St. Joseph’s Academy, Visitation Academy, and the Rosary Ladies.
Services: Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 23 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 243 W. Argonne Drive, Kirkwood. Visitation at 9:00 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Assn. or SSM Hospice appreciated.
