Mildred Shocklee
(nee Buhr) Resting in The Arms of The Lord at the age of 100, Saturday, January 2, 2021.
Beloved wife of the late Paul C. Shocklee, dear mother of Nancy S. (Robert M.) Noonan, dear daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Kleekamp) Buhr, dear grandmother of R. Christopher Noonan, Susanne (Stan) Taylor, Michael (Anne) Noonan, and the late Cathleen (Edward) Johnson, dear great-grandmother of Luke, Cole, Adam, and Anderson Noonan; Abby, Carrie, Eddie, and Ryan Johnson; Nick and Lauren Taylor; Sarah, Theresa, Patrick, Matthew and the late Shannon Noonan; dear sister of the late Louis, Norbert, Kenneth, Clarence, and William Buhr, Rose Marie Peterson, and Agnes Bueke, dear daughter-in-law of the late Paul and Mary Viola (Mudd) Shocklee, dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend of many.
Millie grew up with her many siblings and cousins in Washington, MO. She worked as the Bursar at Mary Institute for 32 years. Millie was also quite a competitor in both sports and life: a great golfer with 3 holes-in-one and 5 Senior Olympic medals, a talented bowler which she took up in her 80’s, and she beat both breast and colon cancer and fought hard against Alzheimer’s. Her family will most remember her with love as a great cook and for one of her favorite pastimes: cuddling each of her great-grand babies.
Services: Private services were held. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Clare of Assisi Parish or the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Clare appreciated.
