Pattie Stolze December 16, 1947 - September 25, 2025

Pattie S. Stolze

77, of St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25th. 2025  surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 16th, 1947 in Festus, MO to Ralph and Nadine Tynes, Pattie attended Festus High School before graduating from Southeast Missouri State University and moving to St. Louis to become an elementary teacher.  Pattie took immense joy in life, particularly in her family and her community.  Growing up vacationing with her parents at Kentucky Lake, she grew to love lake life. After marrying Jim in 1973, Pattie carried that joy into her own family, bringing their sons to Kentucky Lake every summer for nearly 20 years, often together with Pattie’s extended family.

Pattie had a passion for service to her community, serving as President of most of the organizations she participated in, including St. Louis Alumnae Panhellenic Association, St. Louis Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter, and the local chapter of P.E.O.  In addition, she held leadership positions in the PTAs of her son’s schools, and was a long-standing and indispensable member of Friends of St. Louis Children’s Hospital.  When Pattie was not engaged with one of her organizational obligations, writing recommendations for Tri Delta applicants, volunteering in some capacity, or shouldering the responsibilities of a homemaker, she was attending her sons’ sporting events.  Whatever the sport: hockey, football, basketball, baseball, water polo, or lacrosse,  Pattie could be seen in the stands, cheering on her son, and usually wearing a button with his face on it.

A kind and compassionate soul, Pattie’s heart knew no bounds. Outside of her love for volunteering and her family, Pattie possessed an unwavering love for all animals.  Whether it was the labradors she raised, the deer she fed in the backyard, or the baby rabbit her dog, Rocky, had proudly retrieved, Pattie reveled in every opportunity to care for even the smallest of creatures.

Pattie was a devoted wife to Jim for a wonderful 52 years; loving mother to Mike (Jackie), Mark (Geneva), and Matt (Katie); doting grandmother to Brady, Dylan, Carter, Hendrick, Greta, and Anouk; beloved sister of Peggy Garrett (Ron); and dear aunt of Cari Dick (Robert) and Christi Hunt (Jason).

Pattie is also survived by her faithful labrador, Bella.

Pattie is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Nadine Tynes, and her loyal companions: Tuffy, Rocky, and Chloe.
