Richard J. Keefe
of St. Louis, Missouri, and formerly of Newton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. Born to the late Irving and Mary (Connell) Keefe, Richard lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep devotion to family and friends, and an enduring commitment to the Saint Louis University High School community, where he touched the lives of countless students and faculty over decades.
Richard was predeceased by his beloved sisters, Mary Margaret, who left this world at age 12, and Ann Keefe Kearney, as well as his brother, Walter Keefe. He is survived by his cherished sister, Katherine Keefe of Quincy, Massachusetts, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will hold his memory close.
His legacy of wisdom, kindness, and service to generations of students will live on.
Services: A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 25 at Si Commons at SLUH at 10 a.m. to celebrate the profound bonds he nurtured throughout his life. His warmth, guidance, and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
