Thomas L. Calcaterra
September 17, 2026, Tom was the dear husband of Bridget Gunn Calcaterra who went to God this past July 9; devoted father of Molly Calcaterra; loving father-in-law of Dani Estopare; dearest Grandfather to Declan and Finley Calcaterra; wonderful brother to Nancy Calcaterra.
Tom was a Viet Nam Veteran, a former member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and a Security Guard. His last assignment was as a guard for Rev. Lawrence Biondi, SJ when he was President of St. Louis University. Tom also owned Calcaterra’s the Gathering Place which was a popular spot for many.
Tom will be remembered by so many family members – including those in the LGBTQ Community. He opened his home to them and welcomed them for exactly who they are – beautiful children of God.
Tom left all of us far too soon, but he is reunited with his beloved Bridget. The two who became one back in 1982, were separated for a short time, but are “one flesh” again.
Services: A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3 at Nazareth Living Center, 6 Nazareth Lane, St. Louis, MO 63129 at 10:30 a.m. Tom donated his body to science.
