Ruth Strawhun
(nee Reitz) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, September 14, 2026 at the age of 98.
Born on August 30, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late John D. Reitz and Freida Reitz (nee Willy).
Beloved wife of the late James Francis Strawhun, whom she first met in the 6th grade at St. Thomas of Acquin School in St. Louis.
Loving and devoted mother of Judith Strawhun, James Michael ‘Mike’ (Mary Lou) Strawhun, Mary (Glen) Goeke, Timothy (Mary) Strawhun, Joseph Strawhun, Kevin (Theresa) Strawhun, and the late Jeffrey (Lisa) Strawhun, dear sister of Mary Ricroft, Patrricia Shaw, and the late Gladys Kruczynski, dear grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend.
Services: Visitation and funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 22 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4556 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Visitation at 9 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to one of the following organizations will be greatly appreciated:
